In the photo, there is a desert. In the center of the image, there is something, but we cannot see what it is; it casts a large shadow on the sand.

Angola – Life at the End of Africa

Open Lectures at OKO

Angola. Intensely and for a long time. In the dust. Under the stars. In the silence of the wilderness. Amid the bustle of cities. Under tents. In shabby hotels. In luxurious lodges. Often without electricity, showers, or toilets. With good food. And with endless sardines – we wouldn’t want to know how they are caught. Twenty days in Africa. 4,362 km by car and 18,568 km by plane.

Angola – encounters with people. Nights spent in the settlements of several tribes living in southern Angola: Mwila, Ndengelengo, Dimba, Mucubal, Himba, and Handa. It’s hard to believe how differently people live in Angola. These are other worlds. We are like aliens from other planets to each other. They live simply, remotely, together. Without invented needs. Only what matters. Here and now. Day by day. Naturally. Holding on to tradition. As if at the end of Africa.
