The ensemble features leading Polish instrumentalists, including guitarist Marek Napiórkowski—who combines the subtlety of acoustic tone with the energy of rock riffs—and an outstanding rhythm section with Robert Kubiszyn on bass and Michał Miśkiewicz on drums.
The band has released three albums (“Full Drive,” “Full Drive 2,” and “Full Drive 3”), each nominated for the Fryderyk Award, confirming the project’s exceptional artistic quality.
At OKO, the audience will hear a cross-sectional selection of material showcasing everything most intriguing and characteristic of Full Drive—music full of freshness, energy, and unwavering passion cultivated over many years. The concert repertoire includes compositions not only by the leader but also by other members of the ensemble.
Henryk Miśkiewicz is one of the most important figures on the Polish jazz scene—a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and leader of numerous projects. His unique tone, melodic sensibility, and improvisational mastery have earned him many distinctions, including the “Mateusz” Award of Polish Radio Three, multiple Fryderyk Awards (including the Golden Fryderyk for lifetime achievement), and the ZAiKS Award for exceptional sensitivity and artistic excellence. In 2023, he was also honored with the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
The artist has performed at many renowned festivals across Europe—such as Pori Jazz in Finland and Umbria Jazz in Italy—and multiple times at Jazz Jamboree. He has collaborated with musicians including Joe Lovano, the Paul Kuhn Orchestra, Pat Metheny (in Anna Maria Jopek’s project), David Murray, and leading artists of Polish jazz.
