A whimsical illustration of a city park at night. A large pink dog stands in the center, surrounded by wild and exotic animals including birds in the trees, a hedgehog, a kangaroo, and a resting tiger. The scene blends urban space with fairy-tale elements.

The Pink Dog and Other Animals

Stories from Ochota

Warsaw is not just a city of people – hundreds of species of birds and animals live alongside us here. In addition to native species, exotic guests sometimes visit, and there are even creatures straight out of fairy tales

Which of them can be spotted in the parks and squares of Ochota? Which ones sneak through the empty streets at night? Is it true that wild parrots live in a certain tree, that there’s a place where parrots roam freely, porcupines dwell, kangaroos jump, and tigers lurk? Do you know which park is home to a pink dog? Is all of this real, or just a story?

Stories from OKOlicy will be told by members of Group 501: Mirella Gliwińska, Aleksandra Pronobis-Polatyńska, and Adam Markuszewski.

Stories from OKOlicy is a series of meetings prepared by the Storytellers of Group 501. Who are the storytellers? They are people who tell stories, fairy tales, and legends – and all of their tales are deeply rooted in our neighborhood, Ochota, and Warsaw.

Meetings with the Storytellers are not performances – they are journeys through time and space, where we can discover the legends and stories of our district. Sitting on comfortable cushions, in a warm, intimate atmosphere, with gentle music playing in the background, everyone can feel the magic of storytelling. It’s a moment of relaxation and shared discovery for the whole family.
